This win is a reminder of the power of our collective voices to make real change in Washington, D.C. But our work is not yet done!

Promote Minority Voices

Free Press recently released a study, Out of the Picture 2007, on the impact of media consolidation on female and minority television station ownership. One FCC commissioner rightly characterized the results as a "national disgrace."

Speak Up for Localism

The FCC wants to lift media ownership rules and open the floodgates to wholesale consolidation of local newspaper, radio and television outlets. Big Media's drive to control local outlets stifles the competition and diversity that are the lifeblood of a democratic media system.
